Two rules

The CA is controlled by the following buttons:
Start:  CA are planted.
Hide CA-1 Hide CA-2
Out CA-1+: raise output rate Out CA-1-: reduce output rate Out CA-2+: raise output rate Out CA-2-: reduce output rate
Infection: Infect CA-1
CA-rule: Toggles between rules 600 and 624.
Information:
Input rates Output rates.

Click on Start and then Hide CA-2. After a while click on CA-rule. Now rule 600 is replaced with rule 624. Despite its different structure, then CA behaves like those  in previous experiments. Let the CA evolve and click again on CA-rule to restore rule 600. Repeat it again and observe the CA transition when the rule is toggled.  There are two transition possibilities:
1. The last state before switching serves as an initial state under the new rule,  and a new state is generated.
2. The last state does not serve as an initial state and it dies whereupon the CA plants a zygote which then evolves under the new rule.

CA-[rule=600] traverses 46 states which belong to a CA- solution set (*ca158. In other words, under the rule 600 they all will end in a solution. CA-[rule=624] has a different solution set. Not all its states may serve as initial states for the CA-[rule= 600].  If following rule switching from 600 to 624 the CA continues undisturbed, the last state under rule=600  may belong to both solution sets and vice versa. However you can’t be sure since the process may die after several states whereupon a new zygote will be planted. Which would indicate that this state does not belong to both solution sets.

You may now repeat the previous experiments: Click on Infection, or change the output rates. In between toggle the CA-rule.   After a while the system will settle at a solution (attractor)
