CA attractors

Shape and behavior of  CA depend on its resources. Move the slider (gently) and the CA oscillation period will change. Slider movement will perturb the CA, nevertheless it soon will oscillates at a constant period. At each resource level it settles at a certain period. It is “attracted” to it. And this state is called here an attractor.

In the previous experiment resource level depended upon the relationship between input and output which determines also CA shape and behavior. Interaction between a CA and its environment or other CA will modify its input and output, and determine its behavior.

Whenever possible the CA will accumulate resources and grow until reaching its final and default attractor whose period is 46. Upon reaching this state the CA is isolated and will not interact with its environment. Input = output = 0.
