Entropy and Life
In  a previous presentation I formulated a new theory of biology. Life is a hierarchy of open systems, called Holarchy.  Recently Annila and co-workers  formulated a new mathematical theory of a hierarchy of open systems.  Their  ideas are implemented  the holarchy of life.

Life is a holarchy which obeys four conservation laws:
1. Holon maintains an equilibrium.
Conservation of entropy
2. Holon  begets holon
Inheritance of entropy
3. When perturbed, holon restructures its processes so as to
maximize  dS/dt as fast as possible, and attain  equilibrium as fast as possible.
4. Holon is a process with rising complexity
(entropy).  Conservation of maximal  entropy
